Cost - Assessment

We provide comprehensive assessments that integrate multiple dimensions, including medical conditions, cognitive, educational, mental health, and neurodevelopmental functioning in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. These assessments are designed for complex presentations that often require an in-depth understanding across multiple domains.

Due to the level of detail and care required, we adopt a low-volume, high-quality approach. Each case receives in-depth attention to ensure assessments are evidence-based, personalized, and clinically meaningful.

What is included?

Each comprehensive neuropsychological assessment includes:

Clinical Interviews with the patient, the parents and third parties (e.g., partner)
Feedback Session with the patient and/or parent.
Consultation with External Professionals. This may include communication with teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, pediatricians or family physicians.
Between 1 and 3 testing sessions, each lasting up to 3 hours. The number of sessions depends on the complexity of the patient's presentation (e.g., bilingual profile).
Administrative work, scoring, analysis, interpretation, and report writing.

Fee Structure

The total Cost is between $5,250 and $6,750. The final cost depends on the complexity of the presentation and the extent of the assessment required.

You will not be billed more than $6,750 if additional time is required for further testing or report writing.

We recognize that many families are not initially aware of the full scope and depth of comprehensive assessments. This is why we only offer fully integrated assessments that cover all necessary areas, such as medical, mental health, neurodevelopmental, cognitive, and educational.

Cost - Intervention

Each intervention session, whether individual psychotherapy or family therapy, typically lasts 50 minutes. Depending on the client’s needs, sessions may occasionally be shorter or longer in duration. All fees are calculated pro rata based on the actual duration of the session.

Our pricing model reflects ongoing engagement and therapeutic continuity:

Sessions 1 to 30: $250 per hour
Sessions 31 to 50: $225 per hour
Sessions 51 and beyond: $200 per hour

This tiered structure is available only when services are provided continuously and consistently. If services are paused for an extended period and resumed later, the fee structure will restart at the initial rate.

Non-Direct Contact Services

Time spent on letters, forms, or school meetings are billed at the same hourly rate as therapy sessions, based on the actual time required.

Insurances

At NPSCSPN, services are billed directly to clients. Payment is required at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

We provide detailed receipts for all sessions that can be submitted to private insurance plans for reimbursement.

Direct Billing to Insurance

We currently offer direct billing through TELUS eClaims and SunLife, which allows us to submit claims on your behalf to participating insurance providers.

Direct billing is available only when:

Your plan covers psychological services
The client (or parent/guardian) is the policyholder
The plan allows assignment of benefits

Please note that not all insurance plans permit direct billing, even if they are listed.

Government of Canada's Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Our psychologists are registered with the Government of Canada's EAP program. The EAP is available to employees and their dependents. Services are offered in person for the Ottawa/Gatineau region or virtually.

How the EAP Works

The EAP's fiscal year runs from April 1st to March 31st.
The EAP provides seven (7) hours of services per fiscal year.
Employees can request services for psychotherapy for individual, couple, and family services, as well as for a psychoeducational assessment.
Dependents have access to individual psychotherapy and a psychoeducational assessment.

To ensure your sessions are covered under your EAP, we must have the letter confirming your eligibility for EAP services at least 2 weeks before your first appointment. This will avoid any delays in processing your coverage.

Please note that EAP coverage is limited and may not cover some services. In these cases, you may use your Extended Health Benefits, if available, in addition to EAP services.
